The second annual Oktoberfest Celebration
at Max Blob's Bavarian Biergarten in Jessup, Maryland was a roaring
success! Thanks to Max Blob's, Raytheon, Merrill Lynch, BAA Maryland,
and NASA Goddard TRAX International, and many other sponsors,
over 300 USO supporters and troops had a great time celebrating
the season German-style.
While feasting on a German buffet, Oktoberfest revelers enjoyed
music by The Reinlanders and a very special visit from Miss Maryland
Shana Powell.
This year, USO-Metro offered attendees the
option of purchasing tickets to Oktoberfest for active duty service
members. Dozens of local troops received free tickets to the event!

The USO volunteer who sold the most tickets to the event, won
a weekend stay at the Comfort Inn. He decided to give his prize
to an active duty military member attending Oktoberfest. A Technical
Sergeant from the Air Force enjoyed the free room at the Comfort
Inn.
