USO-Metro Opens New Lounge at
Reagan National Airport
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: WASHINGTON, DC, MAY 8, 2008
– Today, the USO of Metropolitan Washington (USO-Metro)
held a dedication ceremony for its new airport lounge at Reagan
National Airport. The ribbon cutting ceremony was performed by
senior leaders from the military and government, including Bobby
Sturgell, acting administrator of the FAA, and Patsy Ticer, Virginia
State Senator.
This newly-relocated lounge, which began offering
services in March, provides a home away from home for traveling
service members and their families. In addition to the USO-Metro
airport lounges at BWI and Dulles, Reagan National offers the
same renowned services and assistance to active duty military
personnel, National Guard, reservists, merchant marines, and their
families. Lounge guests enjoy a variety of free amenities, including
high-definition TV with a movie library of current feature films,
a fully-stocked snack bar, and wireless internet access and domestic
and international calling courtesy of Verizon.
“We are so lucky to have such dedicated sponsors
who have enabled us to provide these lounges,” said Elaine
Rogers, president of USO-Metro. “Offering these free services
gives us a chance to say thank you to those who sacrifice so much
for our country.”
This lounge was made possible by the generosity
of URS Corporation, Turner Construction, the Metropolitan Washington
Airports Authority and corporate partners Verizon, CACI and Pitney
Bowes. For more information, on USO-Metro events and programs,
