They say the nicest things...
USO-Metro is honored to offer assistance and support
to our service members and their families. Here are just a few things
our men and women in uniform have had to say about USO-Metro programs
and services...
On September 8, 2007, I was flying Space-A out of Ramstein AB, Germany
to [BWI Airport] with a plane full of returning servicemen and women
who had completed their tour in the Middle East. Our plane was late,
as were others that evening, and many of us had great difficulty
in finding a nearby hotel with a vacancy and at a decent price.
Many of us gave up, as did I, and took advantage of your incomparable
hospitality, generosity and goodness.
I could not have been happier with the courteous manner of your
staff, your helpfulness, your understanding and willingness to go
the extra mile for military personnel.
You even opted to keep your facility open all night versus closing
at the usual hours. The lounge was clean, well-equipped, well stocked
with refreshments, and the peanut butter cookies were the best I
have ever had!
The quiet room was a tremendous blessing too. Also, the large screen
TV tuned to college football and sports news was enjoyed by all.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such kind and wonderful
people, for supporting our armed forces, and for being patriotic,
caring Americans.
Thanks again, and my finest combat aviation, airborne salute is
in order!

I just wanted to express my gratitude to you and your organization
for all the great things you do. I had such a great time last night
at the Weird Al concert in Baltimore, and wouldn't even have been
able to go if not for the USO. The show sold out, the line wrapped
around the block, and a lot of folks were turned away. I, on the
other hand, walked right up to will call, got my envelope, and went
straight in through security- completely bypassing the crowd. Everyone
on your list was presented with a special pass and taken backstage
after the show to meet the artist. It was a real morale boost for
me, and I'm sure the other guys there would agree.
Thank you for your gift and thank you for the USO.

Entire staff at BWI Lounge showed exceptional service and their
out-pouring of selflessness and willingness to offer any assistance
necessary was second to none. Thank you all and God bless you.

I just wanted to pass along a thank you to you and your organization
for all the work you do for the troops. When I deployed to
Iraq from BWI Airport on Jan 29th, I was very appreciative of all
the USO folks handing out the care packages to the hundreds of troops.
While the packages were nice, it was the thought that made it even
more special. Please keep up the good work. While we
may not always say thank you, we do appreciate it. People
like you make the journey worthwhile. Please pass this on
to all those members who's efforts truly don't go unnoticed.

The USO is the first thing I remember after I was injured.
It made me realize that there are people out there fighting for
me, who care about me, who would come visit me and would have tears
in their eyes.

Two years ago, I had the pleasure of volunteering my service to
help create Care packages
for our troops and sailors who were deployed overseas.
I'm stationed aboard the Coast Guard Cutter MIDGETT, home ported
out of Seattle.
We are currently deployed overseas.
Today the MIDGETT rcvd 175 care packages from you and your USO Care
Packing Team.
This brought back memories of the many volunteers that I worked
side by side creating these
packages to send to our troops and sailors.
Letting them know that though you are miles away from home, you
are not forgotten.
Now, I'm on the receiving end of those care packages.
On behalf of the MIDGETT crew,
Thanks to you and all the volunteers for their time.
Keep on stuffing!! ;)

Thank you for helping my family! We are trying to "catch"
a space A flight back to Germany after visiting grandparents in
Virginia. My girls (age 9 & 6) are exhausted and so ready to
see their Dad, - I'm so ready too! We were able to leave our heavy,
cumbersome luggage here while we ate, call my parents & husband
(thanks to Verizon) and just relax in a safe place with military
families going through the same type scenario. You have been an
answer to prayer. God Bless You & thank you again!

Hello! I just wanted to pass on a big thank you and sincere compliments
to the USO program and volunteers at BWI Airport. This past weekend,
my husband returned from duty in Afghanistan. His flight was scheduled
to arrive at 1430, but didn't actually land until 2330! If not for
the USO at BWI my four children (all 5 and under with one newly
diagnosed diabetic!) and my inlaws and I would not have had nearly
the pleasant stay during our wait time. We especially enjoyed the
kids' room with all the wonderful toys, books, and cribs, as well
as all the warm hospitality from the volunteers there. Thanks so
much for making an otherwise long and difficult wait comfortable,
safe, and relaxing.

I just wanted to say excellent job in the service you give to us
men and women in uniform. It is greatly appreciated and very thankful.
I thank the lord each and every day for people like you. Thanks
again for your service and may god bless each and every one of you.

Facilities and personnel at BWI Lounge are awesome. Thanks for
making long trips and long stops much more pleasant for all service
members. The volunteers make everyone feel so welcome. The goody
bags are also awesome. It's so nice to see a smiling face give you
a bag of great stuff before deploying. Thank you, thank you. The
USO is the best! Thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors and supporters.
The best services are the luggage closet & free phone calls.
I'm so glad I didn't have to carry my luggage around for 10 hours.
And the phones and internet service and cafe is awesome.
